who is pariseli?

Pariseli (Paris Lailson) is a multifaceted artist, songwriter, and performer hailing from the vibrant heart of Austin, Texas. Immersed in the city’s rich musical culture from a young age, Pariseli began singing at just seven years old after auditioning for the Austin Children’s Choir. Her early years were marked by a passion for performance, participating in school choirs, musicals through Leander ISD, and productions at the Georgetown Palace Theater.

Her creative pursuits extended beyond the stage into independent short films and music videos, further igniting her love for storytelling and artistic expression. From 2013 to 2015, Paris was a member of the performance troupe U Better Sing!, where she had standout moments singing the National Anthem at a Texas Stars hockey game, performing at the Old Settler’s Music Festival, and lending her voice to the group’s online educational app—all before turning 18.

Pariseli’s dedication to music led her to earn an Associate’s Degree in Music Business, Performance, and Technology from Austin Community College in 2020. She then continued her education at the renowned Berklee College of Music, where she graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business.

While at Berklee, she launched the Moondance Music Festival, a grassroots event focused on raising awareness for mental health in the music industry. Drawing over 300 attendees, the festival raised $2,300 for Austin’s SIMS Foundation. This initiative evolved into Moondance Presents, a community-driven organization that now hosts monthly songwriter meetups, retreats, and a co-op festival supporting local creatives.

Since live music resumed in 2021, Pariseli has brought her original songs to iconic Austin venues including the Far Out Lounge, Mohawk, Empire Control Room, and Radio East. Known for her powerful voice and emotionally resonant lyrics, she weaves captivating melodies that elevate every performance into an immersive experience. With new music on the horizon and a growing presence in Austin’s indie scene, Pariseli continues to carve out a space for authenticity, artistry, and mental wellness in the music world. Expect more unforgettable performances and fresh releases in 2025 and beyond.

artist statement

I’m an indie pop artist inspired by a wide range of musical eras and genres—from the timeless flair of ABBA and Queen to the soul of Amy Winehouse, the grit of Led Zeppelin, and the modern edge of Remi Wolf, Willow, and In The Valley Below. My sound is a vibrant fusion of disco, soul, and rock, layered into an indie pop aesthetic that’s both nostalgic and emotionally immersive.

I aim to create music that transports listeners into a rich, emotionally charged landscape—one that stirs memories, sparks introspection, and leaves you feeling something real. Whether I’m writing on piano, guitar, or bass, sketching out a demo in Ableton, or collaborating with co-writers, my creative process is always evolving. For me, songwriting isn’t linear—it’s intuitive, messy, and full of discovery.

At its core, my music tells stories about the human experience: love, heartbreak, joy, grief, curiosity, and personal growth. I began writing because it felt like a necessity—something burning inside me that needed to be released. The melody often arrives before I understand what I’m trying to say, and I follow where it leads. I sing from the heart, and I’m drawn to soundscapes that are textured, honest, and full of feeling.

Though people often focus on genre, I’m more interested in what moves us. I gravitate toward rock, funk, soul, disco, and R&B—all framed in a modern pop context. I love experimenting with the energy of a live band within an electronic setting, creating a dynamic and expansive sound. As I continue to write, record, and perform, I’m diving deeper into that blend—pushing boundaries while staying grounded in emotional truth.
